When the opportunity presented itself and we had a chance to get a female desendent from the same bloodline as Chester, we couldn't let it pass us by. Chester has been such a wonderful guy and has produced such fantastic babies, we figured a female with the same genetic make-up would be awesome.
I don't know if everyone is old enough to remember the "old" show called the "Beverly Hillbillies", but if you do...Shadow adorns the same old "laid-back" temperment and in same ways has some similar looks, like the sad droppy eyes, and long ears that " Old Duke" had! She is so faithful to her owners, you can open the door for her to go out, and she will sit and wait until she gets her little cuddle and pet before leaving.
In the house she's always under foot, and doesn't mind even if you happen to step on her tail, she never moves a muscle, is most happy when she lying on her big pillow in the office watching me on the computer. I have appointed her the "Office Manager", however, she does do a lot of sleeping on the job! Outside, she loves to run and play with Gunner and Bailey.
We were lucky enough to also get one of Shadow and Rhett's babies, who, now has gone on to be a "service dog".. so we are very excited about their up-coming litters. Their pups are showing the same wonderful temperment, but a little more energy, and should excell at hunting , companion or service work.
We are so happy to have her with us, and are looking forward to her first litter of pups with us!
Her first litter of Puppies will be here arond the April 5th, 2013.
She has been mated with Gunner and we can't wait to see those babies!
